Caffè Nero Drops First-Ever Matcha Nationwide – And Customers Can’t Get Enough
24 Apr 2025
Vanilla and Strawberry Matcha officially launch across 625+ stores nationwide
Demand surges as customers rush to get their hands on the new staple
Debut aligns with a summer line-up of returning fan favourites – including the Tiramisu Iced Latte.
Caffè Nero is stirring up excitement across the country with its biggest and boldest launch of the year – introducing its first-ever Matcha range, now nationwide available in over 625 stores. Headlined by two standout flavours - Vanilla and Strawberry - this highly anticipated launch marks a major moment for the brand, and fans are already calling it their new go-to.
After months of growing demand and fan speculation - including breakout Google searches for “Caffè Nero matcha” 1 surging - and overwhelming calls on social, this launch wasn’t hesitation - it was dedication. Every detail, from the velvety vanilla infusion to the ceremonial-grade matcha, was obsessively fine-tuned. And while the sun may have technically shown up a few weeks ago (we see you, Spring), this is the moment things really heat up.
Fans are already sharing their love, with early reviews pouring in:
• “I had the strawberry matcha today. Best drink yet 😍”
• “FINALLY 😍 MY FAVE COFFEE SHOP SERVES MY FAVE BEVERAGE 🙌❤️”
• “Omg!! So excited you’ve got matcha!! 🍵 been waiting for this 🙌🏽💚🍃
”Matcha isn’t just trending — it’s transforming the way people drink. With the global matcha market currently valued at £1.8bn ($2.3 billion) and projected to reach $2.9 billion by 20282, this is more than just a passing trend – it’s a lifestyle staple.
Google searches for “matcha near me” have also skyrocketing by over 5000% in the past year alone, as more consumers seek beverages that offer more than just a caffeine boost. They’re choosing drinks that align with a lifestyle focused on wellness, mindfulness, and everyday rituals. Served hot or iced, this new staple delivers on both flavour and function – made with PerfectTed matcha – a ceremonial grade, single-origin matcha that provides long-lasting energy and contributes to mental performance. After PerfectTed’s founders appeared on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, the brand has gone from strength to strength and is now the number one matcha in the UK.
"This is the matcha worth waiting for," says Will Stratton-Morris, CEO of Caffè Nero UK. "We’ve seen the demand and taken our time to perfect it. What we’ve created is something we’re incredibly proud of – a matcha that stands out in both taste and quality. And judging by the sales just days after launch, it’s clear our customers feel the same. “Launching just as the sun comes out and iced drinks take over, we can’t wait to see everyone enjoying their Caffè Nero matchas on their morning commute to the office, or during summertime picnics in the park.”
This drop is just the beginning. Strawberry Matcha is available for a limited time only, until the first week of September – with future flavour editions already in the works. Fans will want to stay tuned – the matcha journey is only just getting started. And it’s not just matcha getting the spotlight. Summer 2025 also sees the return of much-loved favourites, including:
• The iconic Tiramisu Iced Latte (back by popular demand)
• A revamped Luxury Frappe collection, with refreshed recipes for the Millionaire’s Frappe and the Strawberry & White Chocolate Frappe.
